Fall Decorating 101
Posted on August 13th, 2018 by haynesbrosfurniture.
The summer may just be heating up, but fall is right around the corner. Before you know it, the days will be getting shorter and the nights will be getting longer, and it will be time to redecorate your home for the new season.
Fall decorating is all about having fun and enjoying your home. You do not have to spend a fortune to make your fall home look like a million bucks. Here are some affordable tips to get your home in fall shape, fast.
Keep It Light
Decorating for fall is more than the dark and brooding Halloween decorations. Lighten things up with earth tones and bright primary colors.
If you want to lighten up your fall home and still enjoy the holiday, try mixing in a few white pumpkins. White pumpkins will provide a nice contrast to all that dark orange, and your home will look better than ever.
Think Outside the House
Decorating for fall does not end with the four walls of your home. There are plenty of other creative ways to celebrate the season, so think outside the house and create a fall patio you will be proud of.
Start by filling your front steps and porch with a variety of pumpkins in all shapes and sizes, from huge gourds to tiny decorative pumpkins. Mix up the colors as well, from the darkest oranges to the lightest whites and yellows. You do not have to spend a lot of time arranging your fall pumpkins; just set them up and let them spill out naturally onto your front porch and steps.
You can continue your decorating on the entryway, following the same theme you set on the outside of your home. This transition from inside to outside should look seamless, creating an overarching air of fall fun.
When you are done, top off your outdoor fall décor with some seasonal wreaths and a garland around the front stairway. In the end, your home will look fall festive inside and out.
Farm to Table
Autumn is a time for feasting, and there will be plenty of festive meals set on your table. Now is the time to get ready, with fall-themed plates and table accessories.
The farm to table movement is now in full swing, and it does not end with the foods you buy and how you prepare them. Your table is a big part of the process, so dress it up in fine fall fashion.
Start by personalizing your space, focusing on the things that make you happy. Do not be concerned about tradition; if you love it, your guests will love it too. When in doubt, layer several different looks together; you will end up with an autumn table where everyone will want to gather.
Spread the Love
The table is a great place to start your fall decorating, but you will want to spread the love. You do not want the rest of your home to feel neglected, so dress up your bedroom, your living room, and even the bathroom with beautiful autumn colors.
If you are expecting guests, be sure to give your guest room some love. You will want to welcome your fall visitors in style, and it all starts with a great guest room.
The fall season is just around the corner, and now is the time to get ready. By the time the temperatures start to cool off, your home will look its best, and you can enjoy this wonderful season in style.
